Celery Seed Oil

Celery Seed Essential Oil is extracted from the seeds of Apium Graveolens, or commonly known as Celery Plant through steam distillation of Golden Yellow Flowers. It belongs to the Umbellliferae plant family. Celery’s origin is a matter of debate, it has been known to be cultivated in Mediterranean area but traces of Celery variety called ‘Smallage’ has been present in China since, the early 5th century. Whatever the origin maybe, it has been wildly used, not just as a flavouring agent but also as a medicinal herb. Celery Seed Essential oil is a natural insect repellent, and can be added to mosquito repellent and floor cleaners. It is considered an important ingredient in making pain relief ointments and creams.
